The State Baptist Convention of SC food truck will be serving 200 free hot meals for Region IV (4) target areas. Thursday 12-2pm @ Mt. Springs Baptist Church, Anderson SC; Thursday, 4-6pm@ Easley Union MBC. On Friday, 12-2pm Macedonia MBC, Spartanburg SC; Friday, 4-6pm @ Springfield MBC, Laurens County.

Families losing groceries to spoilage due to power outages can place a request to FEMA to get up to $750 in reimbursement to help alleviate the drain on the family pocketbook.  This information came to them by way of Channel 13. People can call 1-800-621-3362 and state exactly “I HAVE A SERIOUS FOOD NEED” – FEMA FOOD ALLOWANCE.  If you have family members that have been displaced, FEMA may also help with a hotel accommodation. FEMA MONEY if your electricity was out more than 24 hours

To apply for a FEMA check, you’ll need to follow these steps:

_Step 1: Check Eligibility_
Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria:
– Your lights were out for more than 24 hours due to a declared disaster.
– You’re a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien.
– You’ve experienced disaster-related losses.

_Step 2: Register with FEMA_
1. Visit http://disasterassistance.gov/ or call 1-800-621-3362 (TTY: 1-800-462-7585).2. Provide required documents:
– Social Security number
– Insurance information (if applicable)
– Proof of identity
– Proof of residency

_Step 3: Apply for Individual Assistance_
1. Select your state and disaster event.
2. Fill out the application.
3. Upload supporting documents (if required).

– Be prepared to provide details about your losses, including:
   – Dates of power outage
   – Damage estimates
   – Expenses incurred
– Keep records of your application, including your registration ID.
– FEMA may request additional information or inspections.
